QUANAH PARKER TRAIL index.html.html

Brownfield, Texas

Agriculture and petroleum production underpin the Terry County economy, but the area once was home to the great buffalo herds hunted by the Comanche and other tribes.

In 1877, the ill-fated Nolan Expedition -- U.S. Cavalry in pursuit of Kwahada Comanches -- crossed the area through present-day Meadow.
