QUANAH PARKER TRAIL index.html.html

Brownfield, Texas

Agriculture and petroleum production underpin the Terry County economy, but the area once was home to the great buffalo herds hunted by the Comanche and other tribes.

A Charles Smith arrow sculpture stands close to the Terry County Heritage Museum in Brownfield. The museum has a Quanah Parker display.

NOTE:

    The town of Meadow, northeast

of Brownfield on Hwy. 62, also has one of Charles Smith’s giant arrows.

Look for it. Also, there’s an arrow at the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce office.
