Paducah Arrow Dedication
Paducah Arrow Dedication
Saturday, October 15, 2011
In Paducah, Glenn Leming holds a ceremonial fan. His wife, Ardith Parker-Leming, a great-granddaughter of Quanah Parker, speaks into a microphone. In the distance, a likeness of Chief Quanah stands against Paducah’s Quanah Parker Trail arrow.
Paducah’s arrow stands near the old Cottle County Jail, a block east of the Courthouse.
Ardith Parker-Leming’s aunt, 92-year-old Anna Tahmahkera, took part in the dedication ceremony.
Like the rest of the arrows along the trail, the arrow in Paducah is the work of metal sculptor Charles Smith.
